Dealing with the media can be one of the most daunting experiences for any councillor – newly elected or more experienced.

It’s important not to come across as too robotic, we’ve all seen interviews where people look very stiff and wooden, so be human. If it’s a serious matter make sure you look serious. If its something that’s sad don’t be afraid to show that you are affected by it and if its good news be enthusiastic and positive.
