Dealing with the media can be one of the most daunting experiences for any councillor – newly elected or more experienced.

Think about who else they might have spoken to and why, what their motivation is think about who you need to talk to so you don’t get caught out, perhaps talk to the Councils press office or to your leader or lead member, make sure you’ve got your lines straight.
