Aims & Objectives
- To provide tools, skills and support to develop more effective elected Members.
- To provide a clearer understanding of the role and responsibilities of Councillors.
- To provide a framework within which we can attach and develop effective community leaders for the future.
Achievements & Initiatives
- Developed LRIP Member Competency Framework.
- Developed Member Training Programme and Tenders have been sought on the programme.
- Entered into Contact with London South Bank University to accredit the Member Development Programme.
- Developed LRIP Member Development Strategy.
- Established a Cross County Member Development Reference Group.
- Developed a standard Induction and Prospective Councillor Event Programmes.
- All District/ Borough Councils have committed to achieving the East Midlands Member Development Charter.
- Draft Member Development Handbook Produced.
